Long Term Care - Options
Long Term care
“Which?”, the consumer organisation, has issued a useful report in its latest edition of “Which?”, February 2009.
The gist of the report can be accessed by anyone at www.which.co.uk/care.
This takes you to a home page from which you can access more detailed information about:
Long term care options at home: emergency alarms, support for carers;
Long term care: assistive technology. This gives an overview and experts’ assessments of useful gadgets such as light sensors which light up in response to someone getting up, automatic pill dispensers, outdoor key safe, bath and sink safety plugs and activity monitors.
Home adaptations: possibility of assistance from a local non-profit Home Improvement Agency – www.foundations.uk.com (See below).
